As a group my fellow group members and I covered the Israeli
and Palestinian conflict in the Middle East. We did this by covering the events
from the beginning to the end like a timeline. By covering the beginning we
researched the conflict from its roots dating back to the 19th
century. After writing about first clashes we then covered the events leading
up to the current issues going on in Gaza and the West Bank. Once this was
accomplished, for each of the following blog posts we reported on the most
recent news at that time on the Israeli and Palestinian conflict since it is an
ongoing conflict. We were able to stay caught up and informed with all the
recent news of their encounters.
Collectively
before every blog we discussed and picked a new topic for the upcoming post.
Once this was complete we assigned each other different sub-topics within that
category. We were all responsible for at least one paragraph and one section to
complete. After all of this we individually researched our topics on reliable
sources on the Internet. Afterwards we created our paragraphs with citations
and posted them on a group Google document where one person was responsible to
format and post the blog.
After
completing this project I not only learned more about the ongoing Israeli and
Palestinian conflict but I also learned how to work with a group. In regards
with the conflict I did not know the long history between the two peoples and
how far it extended back. With groups I learned that since there are so many
people, you must plan much more ahead of time because not everyone will be free
at the same time. Also with so many people comes a lot of different ideas. This
can be good or bad because many will argue on which ones to use. This past semester has taught me things in order to stay updated in current events and better group working skills that will benefit me in the future.
