Final Blog Post.

The topic my group and I covered throughout the semester was the conflict between Israel and Palestine. This conflict is one that is as complex as it is controversial. Our first post focused on the history of Israel and Palestine so we could gain a better understanding on how and why conflict became what it is. We researched how their ancient religious conflict has been the underlying reason for land conflict between the two nations ultimately leading to their current state of animosity. The second post was dedicated to analyzing the War in Gaza and how Palestine has been oppressed by Israel has broken international law in order to gain more land. Palestine's resistance to Israeli occupation has brought on campaigns such as the BDS movement, which we discussed in our last blog post.

The group work was divided equally among the seven of us. The most difficult part of this ongoing project was trying to find a time for us to physically meet up due to conflicting schedules. Our solution to this was having discussions that occurred via group texts and Google doc chats. After deciding our topic, we would each research one portion of the topic and combine our finished work. Our sources varied considering the work was individualized, but as a group we made sure that they were credible. They mainly consisted of major news websites with a variety of opinions and perspectives. Posting our first blog was difficult because it was our first time working together and we didn't want to impose our opinions on each other. As time progressed, we found a common ground and began to work as a copacetic unit.

Working on these posts has deepened my preexisting interest in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. While I do feel more informed, I know that there is still so much to learn. Working with a group as large as ours has had its upsides as well as its downfalls. Trying to coordinate and compose an assignment was difficult to strictly over technology was difficult, but it strengthened our abilities as a group. As for my personal growth, I found researching to be a downfall of mine. Every source of information contains some type of bias that makes knowing the real story difficult. Regardless of any bias that exists among news sources or individual opinions that put the blame that put one country at fault, it is undisputed that there needs to be peace in the Middle East.
